F-550 codes

Just got home from the wind farm pulling the codes on the F-550. I got P0603 KAM error and P0340 CPS. I know what both are but I am curious as to why I got the KAM error. Its to my knowledge that this error tends to come up when the truck has been tuned or reprogrammed and I know this truck has not been so I am at a loss.

Any ideas.

Also, how is the CPS to replace?

Well the owner (original) says it hasn't but it is a company truck so lots of different people drive it.

I got the code before I cleared.

Remind me What are the issues with the truck that prompted you to pull the codes? Was it a no start? If so change the CPS then go from there

It will generally start fine and run and drive fine but will randomly just shut off. If you need it to start right back up you have to disconnect the batts to reset it but if you wait a while it will usually start. But its like someone just reaches over and turns the key off while you are driving!

Ford dealer. Believe it or not thats gonna be the cheapest. Do me a favor post the VIN. Then crawl under the truck and tell me if the CPS is black or Gray. If its black you get a free one But you have to get the truck to the dealer in most cases to get it
