ONLY 15LBS MAX BOOST??

Well I have been having this problem with my truck for a while but never done too much about it just from being busy. My truck is maxing out around 15lbs of boost. This is with my bully dog 6pos chip on highest setting. I plan on getting custom tunes ASAP but my new tranny has put a hurting on me. I pulled the turbo off about a week ago and replace o-ring on top and bottom of pedestal. Also noticed I was missing o-ring on on front side of compressor housing so I put one on there. Also swapped my wastegate out with a newer one. All of this and no boost increase. I also pulled off up pipes and cleaned and checked all clamps/boots for leaks. The turbo also lags a decent bit before it spools. Im kind of lost as to where to go now. I should have almost twice as much boost. Any ideas of where to go now?

yeah, something is up with your rig. max 15 psi on an stock OBS would be one thing, but not with what you have.

if you see a light at the end of the tunnel, it's probably just a photon torpedo

It sound like you need a boost fooler. you should check for codes

yea engine light is not coming on for overboost, when it starts getting high

No need for a boost fooler, I have a stock wastgete and can easily get over 22psi. Once I get to about 24 it opens up and limits boost. There is something wrong.

Yea I know something is wrong, Im trying to see if theres some way to diagnose it better? Right now I don't even know what to think. I just know my truck should be allot fast than it is now.

You need a boost fooler if you plan on running over 22psi at all. You can make one for real cheap or buy one for like 100 buck or so. with all of the stuff you have that should be pushing more boost. You should try to disconect both batterys overnight and see if it is the computer or not. you can do this with scaners but if you dont have one you can just let it sit overnight. And did this just happen one day or did it happen after you did somthing?

Ah Im pretty sure its been like this since I bought it. It was first diesel so it wasn't supper aware, but its been constant.
I will try the battery thing when I get a chance. I might also try to pull chip out and reinstall.

that is close to what that should be at stock. did you do the turbo housing? if so did you find any play? You should do boost leak test on it. Will the truck smoke at all with the chip? Will the chip make a diff. at all when you go thought the settings? You should also check the up pipes to see if you are leaking befor the turbo.

I didn't notice any play but I don't really have much to compare it to. I might order this piece I found so you can hook up compressed air and listen for boost leak. Yea the truck smokes with chip turned up... allot in CO and back east around sea level not so much.
