I have an '02 f-250 7.3. I was out doing so errands when the power steering pump started to whine a little today (never done that before) so I stopped at a gas station and topped off the PS fluid (was just barely low), seemed OK. About 5 minutes down the road it starts doing it again only now in less than a mile it's getting very bad. I feel it in the brake pedal and can barely turn the wheel so I quickly pull over and shut'er down, check the fluid....EMPTY!!! WTF!! I look under the truck and there's fluid everywhere, look thru the wheelwell and there it is.....a hole in the feed line to the hydroboost

. So I pour the rest of the PS fluid I bought ( I had a quart) so it filled it full again and went back to my house or about 3/4 mile . Pulled the hose and I replaced it (thanks Bennet auto) topped of the fluid and viola, no leak. Problem now is the pump is still whineing, more like growling. IS THE PUMP SHOT??? Is replacing it pretty straight forward? Thanks Kelly
