2001 7.3 Diesel Alternator/battery problems

Hello,
Our excursion is having electrical issues of some kind. We keep running down batteries and killing alternators. We are on the 4th-5th alternator. Usually the battery light would come on to give a warning but the last time the battery light didn't even come on. Something is either draining the battery causing the alternator to go bad or something is messing up the alternator causing the truck to run off the battery until they are dead. Any ideas? Thanks.

i think there might have been some recalls or tsb's for the ex's with elec issues. Try and find some info on those. I am not sure of the exact yrs that were affected.
