Underhood insulation

Has anyone removed their underhood insulation? The blanket attatched to the bottom of the hood. Mine is trashed and am thinking about pulling it off. My concern is temperature. Is the heat our engines create high enough to cause damage to the hood? Thanks!!

Many people have pulled it out. It may be a bit noisier but that should be it.

I was also wondering about this. Is there a tool that you can use to remove the plastic things without ruining them? I may want to put it back on someday.

I did it and it is a little louder at idle. I just ripped the push button tab things out with my hands and they are still good to be reused.
