When I bought the truck it had about 50k. I have maintained the truck meticulously but I have no way of knowing what the former owner did.

I should probably say that I have put about 20k on the truck in Baja where the roads are notoriously bad. That could probably explain why I have had more issues than others have.

Mines at 119k and the transmission just shuffled off its mortal coil, as well as the TC, it did it the day after I got done with the entire front end, ball joints, bushings, rotors, and the like, its had a water pump at 80k and a new right front wheel hub at 85k.
I spent several hundred miles going through hay fields and off road pulling tractors, and hay trailers so its no wonder my suspension was shot, and it needed new shocks, I abuse my transmission with higher performance tunes and equipment, personally I think its just the attrition of the truck and what we put em through.

I'm knocking on 250K, bought it with 163K on the dial. I drive the poo out of this truck. I've put THREE ZF6's in it, three clutches, waterpump, some seals, brakes, two sets of tires, and a few other items.

Anyone that's been here a while knows all my tranny issues, mostly mistakes while doing something else or going to a BAD repair shop. Clutches were either me getting the wrong part in the first place or a man. defect. Water pump just replaced for the first time a month or so ago. (Thanks Marty!) Turbo seals, rebuilt turbo etc.

Really and truly, I can't complain a bit!!! 90% of the money invested in repairing the truck is either performance enhancing or due to mine or someone else's mistake. With a 1/4 of a million miles, I'm gonna keep good 'ol Brisco for a while and see just how many miles I can get until he drops a rod or something catastrophic breaks.

Ive only had like 4 of those repairs (most of them just wear and tear) otherwise everything has been great. Do you beat on your truck, honestly? Cause just looking at that list I would think so but if you don't then I say just bad luck.

Except for bad roads in Mexico I take really good care of my truck. I run a fs2500 bypass filter and change the oil every 5000 mi. I don't hot rod but I do take it off road some. When I do repairs I always try and use the best parts available.
