Thats what i would have done cheap insurance much better than pulling the trans a second time when it does start leaking

[quote=2005F250;1277626]In your list you only have 5 repairs done to the engine. Waterpump is common around 100K, glow plugs and harness hit or miss around 100K, CPS is just when ever. As for the rear main are you sure it wasn't the boost boots leaking and just the oil seping out of them that made it appear the rear main was leaking? At least you don't have to worry about blowing headgaskts and EGR's.[/QUOTE

I have no complaints with the motor, just the rest of the truck.

Maybe I should have just titled it Ford truck reliability. I had a 1990 f250 and an 86 and an 83 and never had the kinds of problems I've had with the 2000. I wonder if GM's and Dodge's have similar drivetrain and chassis problems.

Still think we've got it better than any of the newer trucks with emissions equipment. Trans was rebuilt in mine just before I bought it... no major issues that I know of otherwise. Got a slow oil leak in the valley I have yet to diagnose, fuel bowl drain valve and EBP sensor tube have been my issues so far. Guess some of it is just pick of the litter.

I just added up all my receipts for necessary repairs done on my truck in 130k $8800. Has anybody else kept track? With tires, a few after market goodies, and routine maintenance, not including insurance or fuel I figure it has cost me around 12-14k$ to drive my PSD 80000 miles. I would have just went ahead and bought a Ferrari if it only would have had a trailer hitch.

Well, it is a sweet truck when it's not in the shop. Maybe if I keep it in good shape for another 40 years it will actually be worth something.
