Boost and EGT check please.

Ok I just got my gauge set installed and the numbers I am seeing are giving me a little cause for concern. How bad are these numbers?

Idle: 0 boost and 350-400* Seems Normal
Cruise at 60-65: 0-4 boost and 600-800* depending if I am going up or down hill. Maybe a little hot???
Hard acceleration: 12 max boost and up to 1100+. Boost low and temps high?

Magnaflow 4in turbo back system and a DIY intake, no chip,190K miles.

I am fairly certain I have at least one boot leaking at the inter-cooler that I need to fix.

ETA: Thermocouple is tapped at the manifold and the boost is drilled and tapped on the spider just past the return boot from the inter-cooler.

It all looks about right. My 7.3L only puts out about 14 pounds of boost stock(no programmer). And your temps are pretty close. I would say you are good. If you buy a basic programmer, you will see 24psi, and 1400 when WOT. With custom tunes, you may see different. But as far as just with the mods listed, she is pretty normal IMO!

Seems to me boost may be just a shade low and temps a bit high. Especially with no chip. I could get around 15psi prior to chip/turbo, etc. WOT 70mph or just over empty has never exceeded 1250 on mine pre-turbo stock, with just a chip or with the chip and turbo. I would be willing to bet if you can get the boost numbers up a bit the temps would come down. The less smoke I have the lower my egt's are. No cause for major concern though and it is possible that those numbers are normal for your truck (seems they are all a bit different).

EDIT: I just thought of something else....It says you are in Denver, I am at sea-level. Makes those numbers sound a bit better. I have no experience with these trucks at higher elevations, take my above post with a grain of salt since I know altitude can have a pretty big difference.

Thanks folks!

I have already checked the up pipes...no visible leaks. I will check on the inter-cooler boots and see what happens. It does not sound like I am far off.

Mine, all stock 7.3, showed the same numbers except at full throttle where I showed pre-turbo EGT of 1200 and boost of 18-20psi. I did have new boots and the foil delete completed.

With the AIS intake and 4" turbo-back exhaust same boost but 1100 on the EGT.

With the DP Tuner up to 25psi at 2/3 throttle on the 80e tune and less than 1000 on the EGT.

More air, cooler exhaust.
