97 PS starter solenoid wiring wrong also no power anywhere ???

i need to know the proper wiring for my starter solenoid for "starters" assuming that's the problem, on my 97 f250 PS i forgot which wires go where and after replacing the main positive power cable that goes to the batteries and the starter and a new starter i now have no power to anything for some strange reason.... no lights, radio etc.. nada... but strangly enuf the starter turns over when you " short" the terminals ....... i checked all my fuses etc seem fine ,,, and fyi it started just fine b4 i did this fix.... pls help me asap Scott
