Duramax owner thinking of going to a 7.3 Excursion

First time posting on here and need opinions on a 7.3 Excursion. Currently I have a 04 Lb7 Crew Cab Duramax and am looking at a 7.3 Excursion to have some more room for the family. I am satisfied with the power and economy of my duramax with the Edge set on 2 and am not looking for really big power numbers just enough to tow a car trailer or 26' travel trailer. What would I need to do to the Excursion to get similar power output and fuel mileage (18mpg) as my Duramax is getting? This Excursion has 135k on it...anything in particular that I should look for before buying? Thanks for the input...
