whats so great with an 08 bed

heard lots of talk about guys wanting an 08 bed and turn signals. whats the difference between them and the 99-07 beds and turn signals. i know the tailgate has the super duty engraved and the step, but if it bolts to the old bed, why need a new one?

The reason I did a bed swap was because I had a blowout and damaged my bed. It was easy fixable but I would have been without my truck for at least a week. I wanted a 08 tailgate and tail lights already, so I just found a new take off, color even matched so I didn't have to paint. 6 hours later truck like new again. The box themselves are the same. Just different tailgate mount because of the spring assist and wiring harness is a little different.

There was nothing wrong with my old bed. I sold it for more than I gave for my 08 line x'ed bed, so I couldn't resist

No the taillights are different. They'll fit 1999-2008 but the backup light is on top instead of the bottom and they stick out from the body about 3/8".
