Want to increase the size hole for filling fuel tank.

Hi,
Im pretty much a newbie here, so maybe this has already been addressed, but i couldnt find it so... here it goes, i have a 2000 excursion 7.3L and the hole the fuel nozzle goes into is small, limiting me on diesel fuel pumps i can use when traveling. evidently the later excursions have the larger hole fill and can any size nozzle in refueling... is there someway to make that hole larger?... (preferably an easy fix) thanks in advance,
ee

Not sure if you could take it out, and just open it up with a dremel or something. Or, amybe get a filler neck from a later .

thanks, thats an good idea, didnt think of just replacing the neck, it seems like its all one piece so i cant just replace the mouth, yeah, i thought about just drilling or cutting it out, but was afraid of getting pieces of crap down into my fuel tank... can you replace just the neck?

You can pull the filler neck out and use a hole saw to make it bigger, saves haveing to buy a new filler neck, just a thought, might save you a few bucks.

Careful with those big nozzles. Some of them can really move some fuel in a hurry! I've made the mistake before by not paying attention. Diesel starts to burn your skin after a while.
