: looking for utility bed (oem looking, royal sport) ..anyone have one?

Bumping this up..would still like a royal sport bed, aka...an 8ft normal shaped bed with the boxes/drawers

I heard that they went out of business or stopped making those beds. I heard that those bodies rust out in a couple years.I was looking into one for my 02 6' bed. I have an 8' reading now and I love it.

Yea they did stop I believe..I saw one yesterday that was prolly the first one in ever saw that looked to be in great shape with no rust....jealousssss...I like the look of the regular bed but the function of the utility

I have a 2000 ford diesel and it was a cab and chassie setup with a 9. royal truck bed on it. I have outgrown the bed and have to upgrade to a regular utility box bed....I am going to sell my royal truck bed ...I am located in Norfolk Va and if you are within driving distance I would be more than willing to deliver but have to have full payment prior. I can send detailed photos but can tell you now that the bed started its life off in New Jersey so rust has started on the 2 drawers and a few edges. Parts are still available for the bed from the company .....I will sell the bed outright for $1000 with delivery to be worked out .....I can deliver for the cost of hotel rooom during the trip since my fuel is free ( i run on french fry grease )

I doubt you will find an 8" bed...most of the ones that Royal made was 9' beds. I have two trucks with these beds. My first truck I bought new and it is still in great shape...the second truck i purchased after spending a few yrs in New Jersey. Royal is located in Calif and their bed dont stand up well in the east and north east areas where salt is used on the roads. I am having my Royal bed taken off and having a new Reading 9' utility bed put on...I will miss the low profile of the bed but Royal only has a 3 yr warranty on their beds and Reading has a 6 yrs ...drawback is new bed will be boxy and bed will look more like a power company truck with the utility but if anyone is interested in my bed before I scrap it I am open to offers...

I jsut replaced my utility bed and have a royal 9' bed sitting on a trailer ready for delivery or pickup. I am located in Norfolk Va area. I will weight all offers and delivery is possible and we can discuss this. Parts are still available from royal in Calif. Center drawers need the panels replaced but the drawers themselves are in great shape. Front cabinets will need some work and has some holes down low..
