Keypad Lock?

I have an '03 F-350 Lariat, has anyone out there ever installed a keypad lock on one of these trucks? If so how hard was it? Already have the lock misinterpreted that it was a stick on lock... and since I already ordered it I figured "Why The HELL Not". Any feedback would be amazing and let me know what you think?

True, I made a mistake and ordered the wrong one.... FML but at the same time I work near an airport and the keyless doesn't always work because of the radars there interfere. As much as the easy way out would be nice I almost want to just go with what I have. I guess the first step is to pull the door apart from the inside and see if it is wired for the keypad, if not I guess the next step is to find out if Ford makes a wire harness or if I have to manufacture one myself...

Sorry to revive a thread from the dead but wanted to chime in incase you haven't already done the work. My truck shipped with a code card in the manual, a code printed on the GEM, and an empty plug (populated with pins) where the door keypad would connect. I wired up a harness and the keypad did not respond. Spoke with my service manager at the stealership who has always supported my tinkering, and he claims that even with the hardware present, the keypad will not function since the vehicle shipped without a keypad. He claimed the only way to enable it would be to flash the GEM with an image from a vehicle with a keypad, or replace it with a GEM from a vehicle with a keypad. He claimed that a GEM (or flash) from a different vehicle would cause communication issues. I gave up and built a controller to take in the input of the keypad and send a signal to the lock switch. Hope you have some luck! Let us know if you have success.

Damnit. Well I haven't started yet. Other things have been on my mind. But wouldn't the communication issues only be with the keyless entry remotes?
