Ranch hand 99-04 vs 05-07

I recently picked up a ranchhand . The part number is for a 05-07 superduty. I'd like to put it on an 01.
Does anyone know why it's a different part # . I couldn't imagine it being anything majorRanch hand 99-04 vs 05-07-imageuploadedbyautoguide1393116474.039510.jpg

According to a ranch hand I had as well as a road armor , the mounting bracket is the same. The only thing different will be you will have a slightly larger gap under your grill as the 05^ are a bit longer than the earlier years. On an aftermarket bumper that gap is awfully hard to notice as they leave room anyway. So in theory , it makes for an easy swap to a newer grill without any trimming as well...

If I bought one I would want tje 05-07 so I could use an uncut 05-07 grill.

It has the gap for the larger grille, and the bar that runs around between the headlight and turn signal is higher..
I have the 99-04 version and that bar runs right through the middle of my turn signal reflector because I swapped to the 05 headlights.

Headlight/turn signal size is the same on both... if it covers the turn signal lens on one it will do the same on the other. Sounds like something is mounted wrong, bumper is too high maybe?

Look at this bar compared to the OP's.
The angle I took this at doesn't show it, but this runs right in the middle of my turn signal, the 05-07 bumper has this bar about 1.5" higher..

*Not that it would make any difference during an install, I just wanted to let the OP know the difference between the two.
