Cab Light Template???

I am going to buy some cab lights here soon and have been looking everywere for a template of were to drill the holes in the roof anyone have a link to one????

I installed my Recon LED Kit this past week. Never could find any template's really.

The best i could find were these instructions

Motoman's Madness



But those are the instructions the Recon sends with there kits

I followed those for the most part, but changed a few things more to my liking.


They turned out good



I definitely recommend getting the factory wiring harness, as it makes the install a whole lot cleaner, and the wiring part a whole lot easier
If you have the Recon kit those, you'll have to splice the REcon connectors onto the OEM harness.

You don't really need a template, I didn't use one. Do you have a buddy who has the same truck with cab lights? That's what I did used his for reference.

That's the problem out of all our works and my buddies none of the trucks have Cab Lights

When I was doing truck accessory installations,we would use a sun-visor or moon-visor for a truck with factory cab lights.Might want to check the lund website,they are the ones we used for the visors.

When I installed my cab lights, I just centered the light fixtures between the roof ridges (or whatever you call them) for side to side placement. However, I think only the crew cabs have these ridges but I'm not sure. As far as front to back placement, I just one of the light fixtures to determine. Distance from top edge of windshield weatherstripping to front edge of light fixtures is the length of a cab light fixture. At least they appear to be placed just right when compared to a stock cab light setup. I'm pleased w/ the way they turned out. Hope this helps, rather than confuses! Here's how mine looks.
