Adding 05+ headlights

What electrical parts (please include part #'s) do I need from the dealership to run the 05 head lights in my 01 truck.

I'm going to be using an 05 header panel, 05 grill, 05 bumper w/ 05 brackets and 05 head lights. Just need the pigtail info so I don't have to wire/splice anything up... hate doing that and haven't done that yet with this truck at all.

You don't want the OEM pigtails anyway....they require cutting and soldering and are $$$$.

Might check if Raul has a heavy duty harness upgrade kit.
If he does, it would include relays, heavier wiring, etc.. With the size of the stock wiring there is a voltage drop by the time the juice makes it to the bulbs, with the HD harness there is no voltage drop since the harness goes straight to the battery with the thicker gauge wire.

They generally aren't that much more money (most places are $30 more for the Heavy Duty harness vs. the plug and play pigtails).
I have the HD harness on my 01 with Silverstars in HD heads and stock wiring on my 07 with Silverstars in HD heads, and my 01 is brighter.

Granted, my 01 is a foot taller than my 07 so it's hard to get an accurate comparison.


I suppose if I were to upgrade to a HD harness on my 07 then I'd get a better before and after comparison.

I got my harness kit from GOS Performance. Made the headlight swap a breeze
