bed swap/tailgate ?'s

picked up a 2000 sd gasser for farm duties the bed is shot and i came across a new style 08-present style bed for a deal but its missing a tailgate was going to use the exsisting tailgate on the 2000 but it looks a bit different. can i use the old tailgate on the new bed with maybe a change in hardware? has anyone done this i have seen older beds with new tailgates just wondering if it would work the opposite way as well or should i just find a new style tailgate. thanks

You should be able to , you will just need the striker off the old bed to put on the new bed. If your doing the new gate on an old bed , you have to buy the new striker so i'm guessing it would be the exact opposite. I cant recall if it drivers side or passenger side but its the one with the square type looking flange

Sold 01 350 6" on 37's and mild mods, 00 X 4" on 35's, 02 f350 4" 35's modded from fan to drive shaft, ridin the 03 with nose conversion with 125k and counting upwards slowly.
Never had CNC's poo on any of it, never will.

The strikers are the same its the drivers side pivot point that you change.
