Harley headlights on 99

I just wanted to see if Harley headlights were direct replacements for the stock headlights? Or does something need to be modified? Thank you

If I'm not mistaken you have to cut the header panel. You may find a direct swap aftermarket pair , but I believe most of the newer style upgrades require trimming even on aftermarket. Plenty of writeups on it here if you choose to do it

I used an aftermarket set of harley lights. Made a huge difference in what I could see at night should've been done years ago. THink I pain around $160.00 and that included the harnesses to adapt to the new headlights. Had to cut the header panel to fit them. First one took 40 minutes or so, second one about 15. I used a 4.5" angle grinder for the big straight cuts and my dremel tool to connect the dots. It's not a bad saturday morning project at all and if your lights are half as bad as my 99.5s were you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

There's TONS of write ups on this.

I just did mine a week or two ago.

Here's the cheapest I found, then just search "9007 to h13 harness" on ebay and they have them for >$10
