Debating on lowering my truck, from an 8 inch..

Well I am debating on lowering my truck.
Its a 8 inch BDS lift, what exactly do I need? just new shocks(mine need to be replaced anyhow) or would I need to swap a whole kit over..not to confident on suspension stuff, especially with lifts.

My reasoning is tire cost, the whole 2k for a set of tires. Isn't practical for me. haha and since my truck is down right now, due to a transmission that went bye bye. I got time to save for a bit and going to order a bunch of stuff at once.

2003 Ford F-350
7.3 Powerstroke!
8 inch BDS lift.
4 inch MBRP Exhaust
Edge Juiced w/ Attitude.
40 inch tires on 20 inch Black Moto Metals.

i think the easiest thing would be finding someone with a lower truck that wanted a taller truck and swapping the whole thing.

it depends how it was lifted. drop pittman arm? you'll need a stock one, drop track bar bracket? you'll need a stock one adjustable track bar? lift springs? you'll need stock one, stock shocks, brake line are the longer i would assume so you'll need stock one (i guess you could run longer one and hide them out of the way so they don't rub the tires frame springs, get pinched or caught on things) new rims and tires

Was it the tire size that hurt the transmission? I want an 8" lift with either 37s or 38s
