Roof Racks

Hey guys,

I've been debating lately on getting a roof rack to hold the spare tire and thats all I need it for. I've been looking around and can't find any rack below 400 bucks!?!? Are they really that much? Seems pricy just for a rack to held a spare or one that is big enough to hold one. If anyone has one mounted for a reasonable price can ya let me know where you got it and how hard the instal was? Thanks.

I found several baskets on-line for less than $400.

have fun getting a 35-37" spare on and off of the rack in the case of a flat...
We used to run a Hummer H1 when I was fighting wildfire. It was a royal pain in the *** getting the spare off and on from the top of the tank package by hand.

I know this was a couple weeks ago, but thought I might be able to help. I've ran this rack:
Rage Powersports » RAGE Powersports | RB-DLX-V2 | Car Top Carrier
with the extension on my Honda Pilot for about a year. It was less than $250 and has been really handy. Not sure about a 35" or 37" up there though, might need to build a swing away tailgate carrier for that one.

HD adding that because bare bone before mounts = 1200.00 is close to under 400.00 ?

sorry buddy I know you posted it to this 3 year old thread because it's related and for searches
I really wanted to add that smart ash price comment to the the group buy thread
that is insane coin for an extruded aluminum roof rack IMO you would probably destroy it man handling a spare in and out of it

No argument here... and I appreciate you not wiping yourself with his thread

I was quick to let him know I was NOT in his demographic.
