Harley light convert help needed.

I hate my headlights. I want to swap to the Harley lights. I tried to search, and got lots of photos of trucks with Harley lights. Can't seem to find a thread that tells you how to do the swap, what parts you need etc... '05 lights seem to be the most popular. I also read something about a panel modification. What's that, and how difficult?

Tousely Ford has the header panel and 05 lights at a great price. Ask for the collision parts. They are OEM Ford parts but sold to collision departments. Picked up lights at 104/each but they are not the Harley lights. They look good to me.

You need to look at the stickies in the exterior section, there's a few write ups on how to do it. I just did mine a few weeks ago and I cut the stock header panel, took me 30 minutes for each side. You don't really need the 05-07 header panel unless your going to swap to the 05-07 bumper.

You buy the pigtail harness for $8.00 off eBay

05-07 CONVERSION instructions. ( here )

Scroll down and you'll see where the OP notates to cut the header panel. I used my 4" electric grinder with a metal masonry blade, cuts the fiberglass perfectly. Just a heads up, the bar on your bumper that runs right above your turn signal will be exactly in the middle of your new turn signal with '05 lights.

It's still visible in low light conditions but in the day time can be rather hard to see.

I have read that you need extra clips or something to secure the headlights in. Is this true or do you just cut the header panel and throw the new lights in?

You do need some speed clips, or whatever the proper name for them is. The clips that have a nut on the backside.

Got any pics of how the lights are mounted and the clips you used?
