08 tailgate on 01 f350

Will an 08 tailgate fit on a 2001 bed?

yes it can fit.. youll need some hardware from the new 08's too.. i saw a write up on it on here a long time ago... might wanna do a search and see if you can find it

I think you just need part of the hinge and that is it... all bolt on though..

Yea I think its the driver side hinge assembly or something.

yup, drivers side hinge assembly, not a cheap gate tho if you get the one with the step in it, but yea the drivers side hinge also has a spring assist to help pick up the heavy *** gate, but its a direct bolt on

Like the others said you just need an '08 drivers side roller (hinge). The part # from Ford is 4L3Z 83430B39 AA and its $7.52. Heres my '08 tailgate on my '02.
