Looks like a harness for a trailer plug in the bed for a fifth wheel. Is it coming off of the plug wiring for the back of the truck?

Yea it looks like its kinda tied into the driver side frame rail harness. The previous owner had a 5th wheel in it. So how does that plug work is there something in between that and the trailer or what ive never pulled a 5th wheel i just assumed it plugged in like any other trailer

It basically is just another trailer plug tapped into the factory trailer wiring fifth wheels do plug in the same way but people like to run another trailer plug and install it in the bed so I am guessing he either had another plug in the bed or he was going to put one in and never installed it he just installed the harness for it at the factory wiring. Look in the bed and see if there is or was a 7 way plug. That is the only thing I can imagine it being.

Well i think its the only trailer plug on the truck because other than the 4 pin one i installed theres no other trailer plug anywhere either under the truck or in the bed. Is there anyway i can get a 7 pin plug that would plug into that?

Oh ok if you do not have a 7 way on the bumper then this harness is the factory harness for a 7 way plug on the bumper.

Ha ha ok that is odd. If you can identify the wires for a factory 7 way you could just cut the harness off and rewire a 7 way instead of your 4 way using hearshrink on the connections I have done this twice on mine.
