08 taillights on 2000

Hey guys will the 08 taillights bolt right in on my 2000 f-250?
Also what is a decent price range for a pair?

I think so...the beds are pretty much the same. I've seen an 02 with them so probably...

The beds are the same. You have to get a replacement harness to connect the lights though.

i had this question a few weeks ago and from what i understood they do bolt right in but since the reverse light is at the top of the tail lamp assembly, instead of at the bottom like on ours, the wiring for the reverse light bulb needs to either be able to reach or as Justin says "You have to get a replacement harness to connect the lights though." I still want to do the tail swap on mine, post up the pics when you do yours so i can see how good it looks

Oh yea and by the way i priced out the lights at local Ford dealer (Langley, BC, CAN) and they wanted $70 a per tail light with my shop discount. Let me know if you find better deals.

yes they will fit, the brake light socket is the same and will fit the housing. now the reverse light is the problem, it is a different socket and the 08 harness will not hook up to the earlier models. I put an 08 box on my truck so I took the 08 harness and cut the socket and some of the wire from it, and then cut my stock harness and solder it together. works great!

you can get the pigtail for the lights from any auto parts store. I got mine at AutoZone. They fit great , just make the back up light wires long enough.

I have a set if anyone is interested........and yes the only think you have to change out is the reverse light socket

The taillights bolt right in no problem. The pigtails can be bought from Ford for $24.65 each. The part # is 1U2Z14S411BEA.

If your taillights dont come with the reverse bulb sockets they can be had for $15.58 each. The part # for those is F81Z13411BA.

I got my taillights off of ebay used for $50.

instead of Ford get the silly 921 2 wire bulb harnesses from kragen or autozone or whatever for about $5 each and call it good. The swap is plug and play besides the reverse lights. Easy to do.
