How much of a lift?

So right now my truck is stock height with stock rims and tires. I was wondering how much to lift it. The thing is that my truck is 2wd, so it'd be pointless to lift it to the sky. I just want a little bit of a lift that'll allow me to put some beefy tires on and will still allow me to tow if I need to. I was also thinking about air bags but I'm not sure. I don't have a set tire size or anything, so what combination do you think would look good without taking away the usefulness of my truck?
