Can't tell wether it's a 7.3 or 6.0

Hey guys new here and new to PowerStrokes! My girlfriends dad has an F250 with the 99 to 01 headlight modules (amber turn signals) so you would assume its a 7.3 right? Buuut he has 6.0 plaques on the sides instead of the 7.3 ones also one under the ford logo on his tailgate... I wanna surprise him and impress him by being able to tell wether it's a 6.0 or 7.3 he won't tell me the year because that obviously gives it away. He rarely drives so most of the time it's just sittin there under it's canopy in the drive way. Any ideas I can figure out wether it's a 60 or 73? Thanks guys !(:

Have you herd it run? You can tell by the sound.

Look at the passenger side valve cover... It will tell you specs on the engine. The 6.0 is a red sticker and the 7.3 is white (I believe).

Haha trust me I would look under the hood if I could haha he knows I'm not dumb he won't let me do that either. But it's weird though because he had to have put the 6.0 plaque under the ford logo on his tailgate because you don't see that on any Superduty at all...
