2000 f350 bed removal problem

Hello all,

I just picked up a new bed for my dually (old one is in rough shape) and started to remove the bed bolts tonight, problem is the middle ones are very tight, i mean like ive broken 3 t50 torx bits on them.

any advice?

cut and put new bolts in, easiest way to do it

take a grinder and grind them off! So much easyer, and then replace them!

Weld nuts to them, then breaker bar with cheater pipe - once you get them out, get replacements and coat with anti-sieze. they should go right back in the nut plates.

I used an air riveter w/lester tool which helped loosen most of mine up with a small cheater on it.

That being said, I still had to bust out the welder for 2 of them on both the beds I've replaced on both of my trucks now. I hate those goddamn bolts with a passion.
