99-03 headlight bezels on xl model 250

Maybe I'm missing something but how do you get these off? Do you have to remove the battery and everything behind the light? Am about ready to take a ball peen to it and order new ones. Thanks for the help!

Sorry, I don't have a pic but on the xl models there is a argent gray trim piece that surrounds the sealed beam headlight. Trying to get them off to paint them. I'll see if I can get a pic of it and upload it today.

I dont remember how I got them off, but what do remember is that the plugs are different from the XL's and the other or at least the XLT headlights I was switching them with. Luckily I had the whole truck at my disposal and just snipped the plugs off and rewired them. (Trucks were both 99's)
