Truck got broken into

My truck got broken into last night. The crack heads stole my camo hunting jacket, a bunch of change, some knives and other lower value stuff. They got in by punching out the drivers side lock. I was really surprised to see how easy it really is to break into these trucks through the door handles.

Now I've got to buy a new lock and door lock covers. Any suggestions? Do I have to get the fancy chrome or SS ones or can I get flat black steel ones? I read the other post about the SS ones, but I didn't want to hijack...Should I get a new lock through the dealer or are there other options?

First time I've ever had a car broken in to, I guess I was expecting it, getting divorced and being forced to live in an apartment.

Thanks.

That sucks man, stupid *** thieves.... For your question about the door handles I would get the chrome ones and go to the dealer to get the lock.

Thanks guys. Anyone have any ideas on where to order the door handle pieces? SS or otherwise? I need to get parts ordered ASAP.

Thanks.

PM some of the vendors on this site. They usually have great prices and deals.

Thanks for the help guys. All I could find were the bozebillet.com ones and all sales manufacturing. They're all pretty spendy. Sucks. Looks like I'll be shelling out about $200-$300 plus replacing my stolen items.

Id definately go with the ss ones, the problem with the stock ford handles is the fact that the tumbler retainer cup is all plastic, with a little snap clip to hold it in,, thats why its so easy to pop the tumbler right out

You need to invest in some jimmi jammers from trucksecurity.com.

Steve is a great guy to deal with and offers some very good security products.

Thanks alot guys. And BamaF350, I think I'll buy those. I really don't want to shell out $600 for matching SS door handles. jimmijammers is exactly what I'm looking for. Heck of a lot cheaper too.

I friggin' love this site.
