Cab lights

Today my wife asked me what I want for Christmas and I have always want to install cab lights on my F250. I was going to check parts at ford dealership and see how much the cab lights cost. But my question is where can I get the template for installation? Also should I buy the wiring harness from ford? I'm not sure if my truck have a spot open for cab light plug. My truck is 2002 F250 XLT. Is there a way I can find outfit there is a open plug for the cab light?

I'd like to know the same. My pap just bought an almost mint 2001 350 xlt with no cab lights. Ill trace the wires on my 01 and see if we can figure out where the plug is.

For the template, I made my own template out of card stock paper and poked three small holes to mark the roof.

Your best bet for the harness is get one from a dealer. Does your truck have a overhead console computer?

Even if you do have the factory overhead you can use the harness that is for lights only and cut the end off. Ground the ground wire where ever and run the other wire to the pin in the connector.

Here is a link to my thread about when I installed mine a few weeks ago.

I have a few Cummins buddies that I installed their kits for them. The mopar kit comes with a template and a harness. The harness is not plug and play. I just grounded and a made a relay to the parking lights. Pretty simple.

Hollister- so I don't have overhead compass so are you saying that there is possible that I have spot open for cab light wiring harness plug in the passenger side kick panel? I think I will look at it tomorrow and see if there is open.
