Another headlight question
I hate my stock 02 headlights, went with HID's in them, they still suck, just blind people without throwing much more visibility. Have been toying with the idea of a 05 conversion...
If I can just get away with changing the headlamps I will. Anyone use these? Do they project better than the factory stuff? I will be more than happy to put nicer bulbs in them if needed.... 99-04 F250 F350 F450 F550 Black Projector headlights+Corner Park Lights | eBay

HID's don't line up properly in stock housings which is why the light scatters and you blind everyone, it's also why they are for off road use only. I am not familiar with those projector housings, vary few are setup to handle HID's. I swapped out for a set of 05 style lights and Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. I can see great compared to the fogged up stock lights and the cutoff is vary crisp so I don't blind everyone.

It's hard to tell in the ad, but those don't look like projectors... Where's the Lens? It looks like the tiny little light in the corner has a lens, could THAT be the "projector"?
![]() In my '02, I followed your steps with the same results Ended-up buying projectors and am Very happy with how they work, Not all that happy with the way they look, but functionality is more important to me than appearance (and JSchuricht is Right, they said "not for HID" right on them but seem to work fine anyway.....)They draw a nice "Shadow Line", throw down the road, and don't blind oncoming drivers. |

Which lights did you go with?

They were just cheap eBay projectors from a couple of years ago, not sure if I could find the exact same ones there today... They were HALO (I disconnected those LEDs) projector Lowbeam and a conventional reflector Hi. I put Philups 35w in the Low and Retro 55w in the HI (THOSE are blinding so I use them carefully).
