HIDs, Smoked Taillights, and Heat Flags finally on.

Well, I finally decided to do some stuff that I've been wanting to do for a while. I installed a set of 6000k HIDs, they were $100 and have high beams too but I believe the high beams are halogens, not HIDs. I got them at a performance car shop and they are supposed to be the best, came with a 1 year warranty.

I also tinted my taillights and brake light with VHT Niteshades. I was thinking about leaving the reverse light untinted but my taillights were in pretty rough shape and my reverse lights don't work at the moment, so I didn't think it would be worth the effort. I'll probably be getting some smoked Recon taillights later on anyways.

I also bought some Heat flags. I'm not like a #1 fan or anything, since I'm not really a sports fanatic. But I do root for them, and they are my home team. Honestly, I got them because I like the look of the flags on these trucks. I'll probably take them off when I put a Yakima rack with driving lights on.

Tomorrow or the day after, I'm going to paint the insides of the grille black. The parts that are supposed to be gray but are faded and cracked on my truck. I'm also planning on tinting my front windows to match the rear, which should be about 20%. After that, I'm done with aesthetic modifications for a while. And yes my truck is pretty dirty and in dire need of a wash, especially the rims.

Oh, and the decal on my front window is from my car crew. My friends started it and we all go to local car meets together.

Oh, and the taillights are still very visible at night. I did two coats of Niteshades and 3 clear coats. I'm still going to try to find some brighter bulbs for the taillights. I know for my Crown Vic there were like some Xtravision bulbs or something that replaced the stock ones and made the taillights a bit brighter. Not sure if theres something like that for these trucks. Also, I have to fix my reverse lights and 3rd brake light, because they do not work. Oh, and one of the black plastic covers for my license plate lights fell off, so I have to replace that too.

Those light bulbs are easy to replace...couple of screws on the third brake light cover and on the tail lights and boom you're good...

Well, I replaced the factory lights with the 2005 assembly a while back. That came with a conversion harness to go from the factory bulb type to the newer ones. The HID kit just came with ballast and bulbs that plug right into the conversion harness and fit into the 2005 assemblies.
