05 mirrors on a 01

Tried the search function on my phone and it's no use can anybody help me out on a write up or at least point me in the write direction on the wiring of putting the 05 lighted and heated mirrors on my 01

You can find a good detail write up anywhere on the internet but basically

1. Mount mirrors
2. I cut the plug off to splice the 3 matching color wires from the old mirrors.
3. For heat you can splice into one of the 12v constants in your door panels, heated mirrors will always be on but they will be fine, or you can run in the cab to a switch.
4. Run blinker wires from mirrors through door to main harness under the steering wheel and tap into correct blinker wires for each side (this is the worst part) but you can find the colors on the internet
5. Run running light wires to main harness under steering wheel and splice into running lights.

Getting the wires through the doors is a biotch, ended up using a coat hangar and it helped, sorry I cant help with the wire colors

All i can say to ya, is make sure you look up for 05 mirrors cuz when brandon and I tackled this job on his truck, for some reason, the wiring must be just alil different cuz all the wires hooked up, the only thing that doesnt work is the mirror functions and the heat. So thats what has us stumped on that.

I doubt it cuz his 02 tow mirrors worked before we installed the 05 mirrors so no telling whats going on really. With any function you push your mirror control, the mirror itself just goes up and out, its really weird. And the heat doesnt work either but i dont think we hooked that up to constant power source

When I installed my 05s, on a 2000, the wire colors were different so i had to do a little testing...lol
