Single Cab Shortie Swap

Let me start this off by saying I hope this isn't a topic that has been beat to death, but I could not seem to find anything that answered my question.
I'm looking at swapping a short bed onto my Single cab (lowered not lifted) All the trucks I have seen the frames have been cut behind the cab and shortened 16 inches or so. Being that the frame does not lend itself at all to a frame jig I personally would rather relocate the leaf spring hangers forward and the four rear bed mounts and bumper mounts on the frame are easily fabricated.

Is there something huge I am missing why everybody is chopping their frames in half and having to worry about dog tracking, stress cracks, and cab to bed fitment?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The frame arches up above the axle. If you just slide the axle up the bed wont fit properly and the axle & springs won't just bolt up again because of the shape of the frame.
