Looking to get some stacks, some help needed
hello everyone, i just got my truck a week ago, and i am very pleased with it. Everything checked O.K by 3 mechanics , but a water pump,(replaced it). I am looking into getting stacks for it, like 4 to 6 inch. i am just 16 so i dont have a lot of money or knowledge on these diesel trucks. My truck has an 8ft. extended bed, i haul 3 of my dirtbikes when i go riding, so i think this could be a problem? If i put the stacks on it is there a cover that is heat resistant so i can tighten my front tires to the plate? Is there anything to section it off safely? thanks alot !

Yeah i've seen a few guys who have stacks and they have a diamond plate box that covers the cross pipe in the bed. If your getting stacks I haven't seen any smaller than 5", that's what I have on my truck. You can go 6 or 7" also. Grand Rock are nice stacks. Also MBRP has a smokers kit.

6" look badazz on our body style.
Diamond plate cover the pipes and it shouldn't get too hot. Hell, screw the bed - get a trailer! LOL

yeah, i do have a trailer, but hell the truck is to damn long anyway. i guess i could get the diamond plate cover, and put some kind of extra thick insulation, and do some practice runs without my bike in the back, we'll see.

i dont know what your plans are but i have a buddy who runs stacks in his bed with the cover over them and he just took a piece of 1/4 inch steel and welded it to the inside of the bed mounted new hooks on the steel for support then had a spray in bed liner which made it look great you would have to know what the bed looked like before to realize it wasn't a factory hook location. Just a suggestion
