Painting my bumper ***any tips***

I am wanting to paint my front and rear bumper to match. I'm tired of having a super dark maroon truck with black and chrome parts. Chrome is not my thing. Has anyone done this before? If so tips and pics would be great.

I have considered bed liner, so rugged! I def want to get rid of all the chrome. Anyone have pics of a truck done up with bed liner on the front and rear bumpers?

Did the steps to. Prep is everything. I sanded them to scuff em up, then sprayed with adhesion promoter, then bedliner. I think I may have needed to sand them more but I wanna redo them with a rubberized bedliner rather than the non rubberized like I have now. I think that will hold up better.

I had the bumpers on my 08 media blasted and then powder coated to match my truck. Total was around $250. I love how it looks and its held up great so far, no rock chips or any signs of wear at all.

All of these are good options. Mine are painted w/ base coat / clear coat to match the truck. If you can powder coat them, I think that would be a better way to go if you want them "color matched". Otherwise, the bedliner is a great idea.

Tip, you can sell your chrome bumpers, buy XL (non-chrome) bumpers and have them painted. That is the route I took. At the time, it worked out that I sold the chrome for more than the XL so had money left over.

Good luck. It will look nice no matter which way you decide to go.
