'00 F350 Heated Mirrors
Have heated power mirrors on 2000 F350 Lariat. Mirrors work fine but do not defrost. Only fuse is 10A for mirrors themselves. I know mirrors heat and stay heated with ignition on - what else is wrong? Do the heating elements crap out with age?

Unless you've added them aftermarket, I'm pretty sure they didn't have heated mirrors until 02 maybe?
For sure 05s+ did. |

You could be right about the '00 model year - perhaps someone online knows? The mirrors both have the defrost icon on them and the truck has never had any body damage that would necessitate replacing the mirrors.

Do they have turn signals on them?
And is this a truck or excursion? |

|
No turn signals; truck is F350 crew cab with Lariat package.

On my 04 there is a fuse for the heat and one for the switch. Do they have the defrost symbol on the glass?

There is a defrost symbol on the mirror's glass but only one fuse.

I've got a lariat and they didn't have it.
Someone replaced the glass maybe? Have they eve worked before? |

The mirrors may have been replaced - don't know. They may have worked before and I didn't notice. Not in the last 2-3 years anyway.

I would suggest pulling the door panel so you can look at the mirror harness. See if there are the same number of wires on each side of the plug. Post a pic if you can.
