05-07 harley lights in 99-whats it take

I have all clear lights in right now. Im wondering if i do the 05-07 harley lights what i need. I also have a 9007 hid kit in now. I am looking at aftermarket sets for 99-04 trucks.

Im just curious if my 9007 hids will work and do you have to replace the header?

A lil trimming to the header panel and they go right in. Not sure about the HID kit tho

Another question then- looks like the only difference between 99-04 kits and the 05-07 kits is that they include a wiring harness. The kit i like has the h13 harness but only the h13 side is a plug and play-the other side has to be spliced in.

So would i be better getting the 05-07 lights for $116 and then get the stealth plug and play harnesses?

There's no substitute for plug in play aftermarket parts for sure. Splicing sucks!

I believe the trimming is just above the headlight and towards the outside of the header panel. It's a small clearance issue. Don't think you have to trim behind the headlight housing

print off the pics of where to cut your header panel and cut along the lines.

The 05+ have different headlights and slightly different turn/marker plugs. You can either get adaptors/relay setup for the different headlights or what I did was order a 55 watt digital HID kit from retro solutions set up as plug and play for a 99-04 with 05-07 headlights installed. I shaved the factory connectors a little and everything plugged in and worked as it should.

No, the 05-07 headlights take the H13/9008 bulb, retro solutions has the option if you buy that kit to include the connector application for the 9007 wiring. Otherwise you would have to adapt 9007---->9008. Not sure about other companies.

The signal/marker bulbs are where I just trimmed the tabs/connectors and snapped em together to work just fine.

i can get an aftermarket header for $48 for 05-07. will my 99 style grille still attach to the header the same?

Just bite the bullet and do the whole front end!
05+ headlights use the 9008 bulb, and why dont you just trim your stock header panel instead of buying an 05 header....Check my thread in the General Discussion about the 99-05 swap im currently doing

does no one know how to use the search function anymore? you cannot use your stock grille with the 05-07 header panel....you can use your 05-07 headlights with the stock header panel but ALOT of cutting is required....you can not "plug and play" them, you need the adapter plug to make them work. use the search panel up top there are already 5,000,000 threads on this.
