Recon LED Tail Lights Install

Out of the box:

Old Lights

Okay, Drop the tailgate: get a 5/16 socket and take out the two bolts holding em on.

Pull the light off of the truck...it will be rather difficult but it will come. Just take your time and be careful. This is what you get:

Turn the bulb holders and remove the old tail light. Then take the bulb out of the top fixture (brake light)
Take the new Recon Tail Light:

Plug the connector into the empty bulb socket.

Check to see if it works; if it doesn't just unplug, rotate the plug 180* and plug back in.

Plug the bottom bulb in as well as the one that you just connected.

Now reinstall light

Now check again when all installed and here you go.

Start to finish, including taking pictures: about 30 minutes.

Looks good mang! Nice, quick write up and all! I was looking into the smoked LEDs, but we'll see. I might go with the red, to give it stock but not stock look! Great job!

I got them from Raul for about 300 clams. They are pretty bright, but now I need to get that dang 3rd brake light. Truck just doesn't look right with LED tail lights and stock on the cab.

Logan...if you pay then I'll order them for ya. lol

Thanks every one for the comments.

How can they give you a ticket if they are DOT approved (assuming they are)???

edit: look at the picture - they are dot/sae approved = LEGAL! as long as they meet the minimum visible distance!
