need help with rust problem

I have an 02 crew cab short box and above the rear wheel is completely rusted out on both sides (just on that flat lip that goes around the fender). I was hoping that some of you body guys could help me find just a replacement skin that I could weld on over what is there so I do not have to by a new bed. I have been searching the internet and all I could find was replacement for a 98 which if I rember correctly is that same body style as the F150. If any one knows where I can get thes panels please let me know.

Thanks

not sure where you could get the skins, but I used to work at a body shop and they could get them.

You might also get away with cutting the cancer out, welding on new metal, painting it, and then installing small fender flares or mud flaps!

Welcome to the site too!!!

Thanks, I will have to talk to a body shop to see if they could order them for me.

Let me know if you get lucky because my truck is starting to do the samething just on the backside below the crown on the flat lip.. I was thinking about fixing it and installing fender flares.

Sounds like a problem with the 02.. Has anyone else had problems?
