which years had factory fender flares?

What year model SD's had factory fender flares that were painted. I'd like to add some factory ones to my 2000 model

I want to say 05-07 would be what you are looking for. I don't recall seeing them on anything prior to the "tonka" grille and then only on the 450 & 550.

I thought you were talking about the front flares on the dual wheel trucks. The ones pictured were still 05-07 Lariats & King Ranch. They are more of an accent than a flare. At best I doubt they give you 1/2" extra protection.

Those are a trim level option, not sure what years, though.
