Black out

I have been wanting to black out my truck but dont want to make it look stupid by over/under doing it. In the future maybe this summer when Im out of school and some money starts rolling in, I want to do an 05' conversion,or should I just black out my current bumper and grille.

Say I do an 05' front do yall think it would look good to have black grille,bumper and headlights or leave it chrome?

For right now Im thinking of painting my chrome running boards black. What is the process for painting chrome? Is there some kind of rattle can paint I can use that will hold up?

Looking forward to the advise and for those with blacked out white trucks post some pics to get my butt in gear on this project

You can do a blacked out front end with a hint of chrome if you get the 05 harley front end. Its chrome in the center and black around the edges for the grille, and paint the bumper black.

Would it be cheaper to get like an xl grille and bumper and paint them?

You can def paint those siderails black with rattlecan paint, just gotta make sure you sand it down real good to get off the shinyness. Btw i would like too know your lift/tire combo.

I want to do myne almost like that. I think theres a slightly different variation of the grill but its basically like that one..

I think Im gonna tackle painting them this weekend. I got a 4" skyjacker lift with 315/75/16 pro comp Xtreme A/T on moto metal 951's. If I had a camera other than my phone I would put up a better pic so you could get a better view.

I like that. I wish I could find a white superduty with that front end on there just to see.

I know mine isn't white but you can see that I have got a little black going on.... I painted my emblems black and got the inserts in red from recon... maybe you could get you some of the chrome emblems and get white inserts from recon... i am very impressed with the way mine have held up... its been prolly 8 months and they still look great.... i got my grille of ebay and it has held up well.... my dad and I made my nerf bars and used herculiner on them and they add a lil more black.. just some ideas... good looking truck you got man... That looks good. Those emblems ar pretty cool, I havent seen any like that before. After seeing yours I think I might go with a black grille and maybe a white bumper with black emblems and white inserts.
Did that grille come black or did you paint it?

thanks... ya I haven't seen too many trucks with the inserts... i really like mine... i just painted the emblems flat black the carefully put the inserts in and the touch of red looks good in them.... i got the grill off ebay just like you see it... it has held up well... no chipping or pealing to this point and it has been on for about 9 or 10 months...
