Messed my rear bumber up pretty bad the other night

was backing up in the dark and rainy night and couldn't see a steel column and ran into it. the tailgate has a dent on it from hitting a piece of my trailer. Considering turning it into insurance under comp, or fixing it my self. either way i am thinking 08+ bumper and tailgate if they will bolt up?

anyone care to estimate the damage for me and maybe a parts list of what i'll be needing?

Haha, maybe I should get pics with the Georgia Tech Tailgater hitch cover in with the beer opener as well! Can't be mad at me for representing my Alma Mater!

True that! Have you checked to make sure the brackets were not bent? If its just a tailgate and bumper it will just bolt up.

well the metal part of the bumper is bent down and touching the hitch, which worries me. just sucks because i wasn't even going that fast. wish it would of hit the hitch like most things do!

My neighbor is in the bumper business and they can fix them a lot cheaper than buying a new one. Bumper man is a franchise and bumperman.biz has people in Georgia that work for the franchise. it worth a shot?

bah, buy a new 08 rear bumper, bolts right up, then go get an 08 tailgate, and mine as well get a set of 08 tail lights too to match it all, then order yourself a drives side lower hinge for the 08 tailgate as it is different then ours..bango complete..your truck looks brand new..dont fix the dent..its a reason to upgrade..

make sure to check craigslist before you buy parts from ford... or go to a truck upfitter shop and see if they have any take off parts.

Can check salvage yards also, find a 08+ truck that has beeen totaled but hit on the sides or front. And if you cant find a new one at least get a 99-07 stuff.
