Rust around wheel wells

Does anyone have rust around their wheel wells? I have been looking at 2000's and most all of them seem to have rust around the wheel wells and on the inside bottom of the door. I was just curious to how common this was and what it would take to fix it.
Thanks, Jordan

I live in michigan. Salt Capitol and Rusty vehicle capitol of the USA. I have no rust on my 2002. I have driven it every year since I have had in through the Michigan winters and I rarely wash it during the winter and I have no rust on my truck.
