OEM Vs. Aftermarket Harley Headlights

I'm thinkin i really want '05+ harley headlights for Christmas. I'm lookin at Ebay for prices. My question is, is there any difference between OEM lights from Ford and the aftermarket ones? Quality? Look? Fit?

mainly just quality... nothing can beat OEM quality... when you get the ebay ones just make sure to silicon all the edges to prevent getting moisture into them...

good question... i want to had... what are the best places or people on ebay to buy from.. is there a certain route to go.. or has someone bought from someone on ebay and had good luck with them or bad luck?

But the looks are exactly the same? Other than siliconing them is there any difference?

I don't have Harley headlights but my 05 lights are aftermarket. They're TYC brand. I didn't silicone them or anything and have never had a problem. They look identical to the oem lights

Anyone else? I'm startin to think the ebay ones are the way i might go. I found some that have a plug to convert to the new lights included.

A problem with '05 up housings..They use a H13 bulb which is quite possibly the stupidest design for a bulb ever foisted on the public. The terminals are so small that they overheat, even at stock wattages, and melt the plastic housing of the connectors. Higher than stock wattage bulbs are offered, but not recommended. There are Chinese connectors that are being used to make these kits and no harness will fix the problem of to small of terminals. As of now no USA made plugs are made that I have seen and wouldn't solve the problem anyway.

You have the best headlight housings made now '02-04 and the addition of Hellas harness and a set of their 80/100w 4k kelvin bulbs will give you fantastic lighting.

You can also do a fog bulb upgrade..75% as bright as Hids and mod the switch to use them with your high beams.

i jus got mine on a week ago look in the thread THE HALO DIFFERENCE someone wanted to know about them and i put up some pics of go take a look at them.
