Lift + shackles??
Truck needs some help up front.
I was thinking of these Rough Country springs PLUS a shackle lift? Does this seem like a good or bad idea? this is the spring pack on ebay: 00-04 Ford F250/F350 Super Duty 2.5" Lift Kit:eBay Motors (item 330360409137 end time Oct-15-09 10:31:16 PDT) Last edited by CanadianDiesel; 10-05-2009 at 01:56 PM. |

I think that lift looks like a good deal but i would stick with that, cause i would think it would be to high in the front with nothing in the back.

Sounds good. Yeah i know what you mean, but right now I have brand new leafs at the back. the gap is 13" in the rear and front is only at 7" so I have a long ways to go til im even with the back if you know what i mean...
I don't want it perfectly level but I am looking for about 3-4" of extra rise at the front

I have lift springs and a BDS shackle kit up front. It's fine.
Level is cool untill you put a load on the back. Almost level works well. SOme guys think that level means nose high. I guess it is preference. I like to use my eye when it comes to leveling a truck. That is what others see it with. |

A much better riding lift would be with 4" hangers and your stock springs or just add X code springs and a adj track bar.

Yeah I'm not looking for perfectly level, I know what you mean...it looks really weird as soon as you load it up it sits ride down.
By 4" shackle do you mean it's 4" longer than stock? |

I have X-codes and BDS hangers with a skyjacker trac bar bracket. Which IMO is better than the adj trac bar.

Yes a 4" longer set of front and rear hangers.
problem with using just a drop bracket as you did, it was made for the BDS lift not the additional 2" a set of X codes will give you..still need a adj bar with the drop bracket as your axle will shift 1/2-3/4" from the additional lift. |

I bought a 2 1/2 set of BDS hangers and the Xcodes. Equals damn near 4". I didn't have to use the cummalong technique. Bolt slid right in.
