quick question about the 05 front end conversion

I'm buying the 05 headlight's(with wiring), header panel,and grille...I'm not trying to buy the bumper right now, so can I just bolt this stuff on with the stock bumper?I don't want to cut the new grille up because down the road I'm gonna get the 05 paintable bumper.Thanks in advance!

the new grille will not fit with the old bumper. (the new bumpers drop alot more) so your gunna have to wait till everythings there or cut the grille. I cut mine and it turned out pretty dam well. its in my sig

damn.how does the bottom of the new grille attach after you cut it?Did you keep the bottom clips or did you use trusty zip ties?

ya there are no clips (you cut them off) you use zip ties or whatever way you want to mount it. its a real DIY job but isnt that hard. I used a circular saw and a thread from this website to do it.

Thanks man. here is the thread you need to follow. it really is alot easier than it looks.... just dont mess up ahha. Dont use anything thats going to heat up the plastic while cutting or it will bubble and get phucked up.

Get your chrome bumper painted red to match.... thats what i did.

thanks man,that's a great write up.I'm prolly just going to wait though,I want a painted bumper.certifit.com has got them for less than $100 and they are 5 miles from my house!!You can do the whole conversion from them (minus the lights for around $300 bucks) I'm going with the ebay special harley lights with the wiring for $160 shipped.http://www.certifit.com/catalogs/4.pdf should be around page 103 if anybody reading this thread needs some prices.

Have you priced out the upper bumper moulding/cover/valence/whatever it's called from Certifit or you getting that somewhere else?

In the past I noticed they list "call" for price in their catalog but have never called.

I used certifit for everything on my truck except for the bumper( got that off of carpart.com ) my whole conversion after selling parts I have 130 bucks wrapped in mine. I also bought my wiring conversion off of ebay for 24.49 shipped( everywhere I looked wanted 40 ). just gotta shop around....if you've used the certifit parts they are EXCELLENT quality parts and I would recommend using them cause of the price.
