Tailgate info needed please

My 2000 f250 has a charcoal colered tailgate and im wanting to find a white one so it will match, and was wondering what all years will fit it and what all models have the same tailgate?

1999-09 will fit. If you put on an 08 or newer tailgate you will have to change the driver side hinge in order for it to work.

Thanks, that will make it alot easier to find one now, im hopin a junkyard will let me trade it for a white one.

Nope not entirely true. Thats only if it has the lift assist on the gate. If the 08 up tailgate doesnt have that you dont have to change a thing

I thought they all had the spring assist.

All the ones I've seen have the spring assist. If you choose to not use the spring assist, then you must remove the torsion spring in the tailgate. It will then work without changing the drivers side hinge pin.

The 08 we have at the fire station doesnt have it

The F150 ones that are the same style as ours will work will work also.

would you want to sell the charcoal tailgate I have an 05 ad need a charcoal tailgate.
