Ranch hand rear bumper problem
I crawled under my truck yesterday and found out they only rate the bumper pull at 5000 lbs. I need a class 4 or 5.
Haven't found any helpful info on RH's website and I searched here. Anybody know what I can do about this. Not sure if it matters but I have a hide a ball gooseneck mounted to the frame. (Maybe takiong up space where I could mount a hitch) Also though, the RH would have to go because it hangs down in the way. My car hauler is a bumper pull though.

Well now I know I need more sleep.
If I removed the add-on receiver mount, there is a hole in the bumper itself to mount the ball. usually these are not sufficient to tow heavy loads, but Ranch Hand claims for their bumper they are rated at 10,000 lbs. The metal is at least 1/2" thick maybe more. If they are right, that's the answer to the problem. |

Ranch hands are rated for 10k and they do have a receiver mount that can be added from ranch hand that is also rated at the 10k. The receiver on your truck looks to be a reece or something similar and they are rated at 5k due to most factory bumpers are not rated that heavy. I have hauled 12k with my ranch hand with no problems. So if your needing the reciever call ranch hand and get there receiver. Also there receiver is made to mount on the top not the bottom as to help with the weight on the bumper.

My bumper is much stronger, looks way better, and will accept and hitch that mount in the factory location... so you will have many more options available to you.... I hope this information helps...

well we cant all have good taste... schit afterall a lot of guys like fat chicks... LMFAO me on the other hand I like skinny beautiful women....
ugly 4" tubing, 12 gauge diamond plate which BTW doesnt belong on a pickup truck, heavy as hell and the same base bumper for all trucks with a bunch of diamond plate used as filler plates... not a good look at all if I had a 1979 dodge i would be all over ranchhand, they look good on that era of trucks, they do not fit on todays trucks... they look like they were built in someones backyard from scrap metal |
